On Veterans Day — Wednesday, November 11, 2026 — Wendy’s is giving veterans and active-duty military members a FREE Dave’s Single at participating U.S. restaurants, with no purchase necessary. It is one of the most straightforward Veterans Day offers of the year: show up on November 11, identify yourself as a veteran or active-duty service member, and the burger is yours. The offer comes straight from Wendy’s own website, where the company published the details on November 2, 2026.
The choice of burger is no accident. Wendy’s founder, Dave Thomas, was an Army veteran himself — he joined the U.S. Army at 18, trained at the Army’s Cook and Bakers School, and rose to staff sergeant while serving in Germany, where he helped manage an Enlisted Men’s Club feeding as many as 2,000 people a day. The Dave’s Single is named after him, which makes it an especially fitting way for the chain to say thank you. Below is everything you need to know: who qualifies, exactly what is free, and how to claim it on November 11.
Who is Eligible for the Wendy’s Veterans Day Offer?
Wendy’s states on its Veterans Day page that the free Dave’s Single is for veterans and active-duty military members. That covers anyone who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces and anyone currently serving — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force, plus National Guard and Reserve members on active duty. The offer is available at participating U.S. Wendy’s restaurants only, so it is worth confirming with your local restaurant before you go.
Wendy’s announcement does not name a specific document you must show — it says to simply identify yourself as a veteran or active-duty military member. Bringing your military ID, VA card, or other proof of service is still a sensible precaution, since the restaurant verifies your status on the spot.
