On Wednesday, November 11, 2026, Chili’s Grill & Bar is once again honoring America’s service members with a FREE Veterans Day meal for all veterans and active-duty military members. As Chili’s puts it, the free meal is a small way to honor the service and sacrifices of those who define selfless service — and it’s one of the most popular free-meal traditions in the country, returning year after year. The offer is available in-restaurant only, on November 11, 2026 only, at participating Chili’s Grill & Bar locations across the United States, from a limited Veterans Day menu.
Who is Eligible for the Chili’s Military Discount?
Chili’s Veterans Day offer is open to all veterans and active-duty military members. According to Chili’s official Veterans Day page, the free meal is for:
- Veterans — anyone who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces, regardless of branch or era
- Active-duty military members — currently serving personnel in any branch
The offer is not extended to spouses, family members, or guests — the free entrée is limited to the eligible service member, with a limit of one meal per veteran or active-duty member. Military spouses and family members are of course welcome to dine along, but their meals are full price. Because this is a one-day holiday tradition rather than a standing discount program, the offer is only redeemable on Veterans Day itself.
How Much Military Discount Does Chili’s Provide?
On Veterans Day, the “discount” is really a full free meal — not a percentage off. Eligible guests can choose one free entrée from a limited, select Veterans Day menu at participating Chili’s restaurants. Key terms straight from Chili’s:
- Valid only on 11/11/2026 — one day only, no rain checks and no carryover to another date
- In-restaurant (dine-in) only — not available for takeout, curbside, or delivery orders
- Limited menu — the free meal comes from a select set of Veterans Day entrées, not the full menu; no substitutions
- Cannot be combined with other offers — the free entrée stands alone and doesn’t stack with coupons or promotions
- Beverages and gratuity are not included — drinks and the tip are on you
Because Chili’s does not advertise a standing year-round military discount on its website, this annual Veterans Day meal is the chain’s signature military benefit — which is why the restaurants get extremely busy on November 11. Plan accordingly, and remember to tip your server generously on the full value of the meal.
How to Claim the Chili’s Military Discount
Claiming your free Veterans Day meal at Chili’s is simple. Follow these steps on November 11, 2026:
- Find a participating Chili’s. The offer is valid at participating Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants. Chili’s itself recommends calling ahead to your local restaurant if you have questions about its Veterans Day meals, since participation can vary by location.
- Plan to dine in. The free meal is available in-restaurant only — sit down in the dining room. Takeout, curbside pickup, and delivery orders do not qualify.
- Bring proof of service. Like most restaurant Veterans Day offers, Chili’s typically asks for proof of military service before redeeming the free entrée. Bring a valid military ID, VA identification card, DD214, or other accepted proof of service to be safe.
- Order from the Veterans Day menu. Your server will walk you through the limited Veterans Day menu. Pick one entrée from the select items — the offer is good for one free meal per eligible guest.
- Expect the small print to apply. Beverages and gratuity are not included in the free meal, no substitutions are allowed, and the free entrée can’t be combined with other coupons or discounts.
- Double-check the details. For the latest information straight from the source, visit Chili’s official Veterans Day page, which confirms the November 11, 2026 date and all participating-location terms.
FAQs About the Chili’s Military Discount
Who qualifies for the free Chili’s Veterans Day meal?
All veterans and active-duty military members qualify, per Chili’s official Veterans Day announcement. Military spouses and family members are not included in the free-meal offer — only the eligible veteran or service member receives the complimentary entrée (limit one per guest).
Is the Chili’s Veterans Day offer available on November 10 or November 12?
No. Chili’s official terms state the offer is valid only on 11/11/2026 — Veterans Day itself. There is no rain check or extension to adjacent days, so plan to dine in on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.
Do I need a military ID to get the free meal?
Chili’s doesn’t spell out an exact ID policy on its Veterans Day page, but like virtually every other chain running a Veterans Day free-meal program, it typically requires proof of service. To avoid disappointment, bring a military ID, VA card, DD214, or another accepted form of proof of service when you visit.
What items can I choose for the free meal?
The free meal comes from a limited Veterans Day menu of select entrées — it’s not the full regular menu. Chili’s specifies that no substitutions are allowed on the select items. If you’re unsure about the exact choices at your location, call ahead and ask what the Veterans Day menu includes.
Can I get the free meal as takeout or delivery?
No. The offer is explicitly available in-restaurant only — dine-in, sitting in the restaurant. Takeout, curbside, and delivery orders are not eligible for the free Veterans Day meal.
Does Chili’s offer a military discount all year round?
No standing year-round military discount is advertised on Chili’s website. The free Veterans Day meal is the centerpiece of Chili’s military appreciation — an annual tradition rather than an everyday discount. Because it’s a one-day event, expect long waits and plan your visit early.
Will my local Chili’s definitely participate?
The offer is valid at participating Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants, and Chili’s recommends calling ahead to your local restaurant with any questions. A quick phone call on Veterans Day morning is the best way to confirm your location is taking part and to ask about wait times.
