Great Wolf Lodge is one of America’s favorite family resorts, with huge indoor water parks, themed family suites, arcades, and free daily activities all under one roof. For the military community, Great Wolf Lodge runs the Howlin’ Heroes offer, which lets eligible heroes log in with ID.me and save up to 40% off when they book a stay. The offer is listed on Great Wolf Lodge’s official Howlin’ Heroes page, which says: “Log in to your ID.me account and save up to 40% off when you book a stay.” For a family vacation that already bundles your room, water park passes, and entertainment, a saving of up to 40% is a big deal.
A Great Wolf Lodge stay is different from a normal hotel booking because so much is included. Your family suite comes with passes to the indoor water park for every day of your visit, plus complimentary family activities like story time and dance parties, character meet-and-greets, and access to the lodge’s attractions. On top of that, you can add attraction passes like the Pup, Paw, and Wolf Passes, which bundle arcade games, treats, and activities into one price. Saving up to 40% on the stay itself therefore lowers the cost of the whole vacation, not just the room.
The words “up to” matter here. Great Wolf Lodge’s own booking guidance notes that the discount offered will vary based on the dates of your stay, so your exact saving depends on when you travel. Mid-week dates and bookings made further in advance tend to offer the best rates, and promotional offers cannot be combined, so the Howlin’ Heroes saving is the offer to compare against any other deal you find. This article is based on the Howlin’ Heroes offer page published for Great Wolf Lodge’s Wisconsin Dells lodge, so check the offer details for the lodge you plan to visit when you book.
Who is Eligible for the Great Wolf Lodge Military Discount?
Great Wolf Lodge’s Howlin’ Heroes offer applies to military members who are active, retired, or veterans. The official offer page lists military (active, retired and veteran) first among its eligible hero groups, which also include teachers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, medical providers, nurses, 911 dispatchers, police, government employees, and correctional officers. For this article, the military group is what counts: if you are currently serving, retired from service, or a veteran, you can use the offer.
Verification is handled through ID.me. You will need an ID.me account with verified military status, and you log in to that account as part of booking through the Howlin’ Heroes offer. Because ID.me does the verification, you do not need to send Great Wolf Lodge your military paperwork directly.
How Much Military Discount Does Great Wolf Lodge Provide?
Great Wolf Lodge’s Howlin’ Heroes offer saves eligible military members up to 40% off when they book a stay. The “up to 40%” figure comes from Great Wolf Lodge’s own offer page, and it applies to the room reservation you book through the offer. Because Great Wolf Lodge stays include water park passes and many activities in the room rate, the saving stretches across the whole family experience, not just a night’s sleep.
Your exact saving will vary with your travel dates, since Great Wolf Lodge notes that the discount offered varies based on the dates of your stay. That means a mid-week, off-peak stay may show a larger percentage saving than a peak holiday weekend. The right way to use the offer is to log in with ID.me, search your dates, and compare the Howlin’ Heroes rate against the standard rate for the same suite and dates. Promotional offers cannot be combined, so if you receive another code after booking, Great Wolf Lodge advises contacting a Pack Member to compare the offers and apply the better one.
How to Claim the Great Wolf Lodge Military Discount
Follow these steps to claim your Great Wolf Lodge military discount:
- Go to Great Wolf Lodge’s official Howlin’ Heroes offer page (https://www.greatwolf.com/wisconsin-dells/deals/howling-heroes?offerCode=HEROES) and review the offer details for the lodge you plan to visit.
- Log in to your ID.me account when prompted, and make sure your military status (active, retired, or veteran) is verified there.
- Search for your stay dates and choose your family suite. The Howlin’ Heroes saving of up to 40% off will be reflected in the rate shown for your booking.
- Review what is included in your stay, such as water park passes for every day of your visit and complimentary family activities, and add any attraction passes or dining packages you want during booking.
- Complete your reservation and keep your confirmation. If you later receive a lower promotional code, contact Great Wolf Lodge to compare the offers, since promotional offers cannot be combined and the better of the two can be applied.
A family tip: book as far ahead as you can, and consider mid-week dates if your schedule allows, since Great Wolf Lodge’s own guidance says rates tend to increase closer to arrival and mid-week dates often have the best rates. That advice stacks nicely with the Howlin’ Heroes saving.
