Benchmade knives have a strong reputation with service members, from everyday carry folders to tactical blades. Because Benchmade says it does not run traditional sales, its discount programs are one of the few ways to save. The good news: Benchmade offers an official military discount of up to 15% through its partnership with GovX ID.
Here is who qualifies, what is excluded, and how to claim the Benchmade military discount online or in person, based on Benchmade’s own website and support center.
Who Is Eligible for the Benchmade Military Discount?
Benchmade’s GovX ID discount page lists these eligible groups:
- Current and former U.S. military
- Military spouses and dependents
- First responders, including law enforcement, fire, and EMS
- Federal, state, and local government employees
- Teachers (K-12 and university teachers and staff)
Benchmade’s support center also specifically names active, veteran, and retired military members. This makes Benchmade one of the more inclusive brands, since military families can qualify too.
How Much Is the Benchmade Military Discount?
Benchmade’s GovX page advertises up to 15% off your total purchase, and its support center describes the GovX program as “15% Off Daily.” Here are the key terms:
- Exclusions: The discount excludes Gold Class and Limited-Edition products.
- Daily limit: The GovX page allows one discount code per day, and each code is single-use. Benchmade’s support center also lists a limit of one discounted item per day, so expect the discount to cover a single item each day.
- Stacking: Benchmade does not say whether the discount can be combined with other offers, so this is unconfirmed.
Since Benchmade rarely holds sales, a 15% discount on a quality knife can be a meaningful saving.
How to Get and Claim the Benchmade Military Discount
You can use the discount online or at certain Benchmade locations. Here is how.
Step 1: Add Your Knife to the Cart
Shop on Benchmade.com and add your chosen product to your cart. Remember that Gold Class and Limited-Edition items are not eligible.
Step 2: Claim the Discount From Your Cart
Select the option to claim the GovX ID discount in your cart. You will be asked to confirm your military affiliation.
Step 3: Verify With GovX ID
Create a GovX ID account or log in to your existing one. Benchmade says verification happens in real time.
Step 4: Copy Your Single-Use Code
After verification, you will receive a single-use discount code. Copy it before leaving the page.
Step 5: Apply the Code at Checkout
Enter your code at checkout and confirm the discount appears before you complete your order. For future purchases, log in with GovX ID again to get a new code.
Using the Discount In Person
Benchmade says the discount also works at its Factory Store and Events Trailer. Register or log in with GovX ID, then show the code on your confirmation page to the retail associate, who will apply it to your order.
Other Benchmade Programs to Know About
Benchmade also lists an ExpertVoice program that can offer larger discounts to qualifying industry professionals, and that program includes law enforcement and military instructors. Approval is based on industry credentials, so it is separate from the standard GovX military discount. If you work as an instructor, it may be worth checking whether you qualify.
Tips Before You Buy
- Pick your top item first: Because the discount is limited to one discounted item per day, start with the knife you want most.
- Check the product line: Confirm your knife is not part of the Gold Class or Limited-Edition lines before checkout.
- Keep your GovX ID handy: Since each code is single-use, you will log in again for every new purchase.
- Know your local knife laws: Some Benchmade models, such as automatic knives, may be restricted in certain states or on base, so check the rules where you live and serve.
